Orange wedding cakes: It’s one of the least common color choices for weddings, which makes an orange wedding cake perfect for you if you’re an alternative bride. Orange wedding cakes also tend to crop in theme weddings, such as a harvest wedding or even a Halloween wedding.

Inspiration: Orange Wedding Cakes

Orange wedding cakes are definitely out of the box and that’s why most brides have a tough time coming up with that perfect orange wedding cake inspiration.

To help you out, think this way: what part of your cake do you want to be orange? The whole thing or just accents? Some cakes take advantage of lattice work icing, for example, or even henna-type designs. Or if you’re craving all-out orange, then you can have whole tiers (or even your whole cake!) orange.

Another option is to incorporate orange with other decor elements, like ribbon at the base of each tier or orange flowers (gerber daisies, for example) as a topper or resting on or between the layers. A lot of brides opt for a traditional white wedding cake and then have it dressed up with their colors of choice – that can work well for orange, which can overwhelm if there’s too much of it.

An orange wedding cake is a fun way to incorporate your wedding colors. Orange and pink are a hot combo, as are orange and yellow as well as orange, rust and chocolate (i.e. fall colors), orange and plum, and orange and aqua (our fave). And don’t forget that orange is the Halloween bride’s best friend!
